In the process of buying a property in Turkey, one of the concerns of us is how to transfer money to Turkey, as well as trusting the seller and transferring money to his account.
These days, we have seen so many frauds and profiteering that before doing anything, we think about the safety points and the possibility of fraud in the process. When buying a property, one of the points that preoccupy us is what if we pay the money and the document is not registered in our name?
On the other hand, there is the same concern from the seller’s side. What if I transfer the document and the buyer does not pay?
To solve this concern, the Turkish Registry Office with the help of the country’s banks have created a system called Taputakas.
What are Taputakas?
Tapotakas is actually an intermediary between the buyer and the seller of the property. This means that the buyer of the property deposits the money in the form of a loan, along with the specifications of the desired property, into the account of the Taputakas system. The system holds the money until the document is transferred to the buyer’s name. After transferring the document, the money is deposited into the property seller’s account.
In this way, both the buyer and the seller are assured that the money will be paid correctly and the document will be transferred to the name of the buyer.
All steps of transferring money to Taputakas and transferring to the seller’s account are done online. The fee for using this system is 70 lira.
We recommend that you read the article “What is Tapu? difference types of real estate documents in Turkey“. In this article, we have mentioned about the important points that you should know when receiving the document
